Tanking Etiquette
I don’t really have a whole lot to add to this, except that hearing of a feral druid acting like such a cub makes my fur hurt.
Work Sucks, So Here’s a Cop-out Post
Sorry for the lack of updates, everyone. When I’m not tromping around instances sticking my big bear patookus in the healer’s face, I’m stuck in my mortal avatar as a Senior Software Architect. While it does an excellent job of paying for food, shelter, clothing, and my WoW addiction, it also comes with a regularly scheduled hell called deployment week or, if you’re one of the developers here, The Week The Computers Won’t Do What They’re Told.
So in lieu of a post, I’m going to link to a few blog posts I’ve found useful or interesting lately. Please forgive me. This site’s regularly scheduled rambling will resume once the dust has settled. :)
- Cynwise, on upcoming Battleground Changes
- Feral Aggression had a good, low-spoiler post about Downing the Lich King
- Ever wanted to play a DK Tank? Psynister is doing it right now, and is blogging as he goes.
- For all you boomkin, Lissanna over at Restokin delves into concerns about moonkin.
- Big Bear Butt waxes philosophical about player styles, and I’m linking it because it’s nice to see that I’m not the only one thinking about it. :)
Okay, that’s all for now. If you’ve seen another post recently that helped you or made you think, please share it in the comments.
Feral Tanking Build Update
I mentioned in this post that I’d swapped out a few talent points and would report back. It’s time to make good on that promise, I suppose. Fair warning: I’m slammed at work today, so this is a short post.
Gear Score
I play on Shadow Council, an RP server, so this issue has typically been far removed from my field of view. After all, even our heavy raid guilds have a more laid back attitude than the ones you’ll find on a normal or, gods forbid, PvP server. However, there’s recently been an upswing in the use of gear examining plugins to screen people for runs, and I feel like commenting on it. (Imagine that. *grin*)

Feral Tanking Rotation
To continue with the theme started in this post, let’s take a look at another facet of play that is posted all over the web but hardly ever explained; your rotation.

Excellent Post About Guild Roles
One of the first comments I’ve received on this blog (two days old and two comments…WOOT!) was from Chris over at Raid Invite. In browsing through his blog posts, I came across one where he makes some very good points about the purpose behind a WoW guild, and each member’s role within it. Check it out.
A Level 80 Feral Tanking Build
Talent builds are the one thing you can be guaranteed to find on any blog or guide. One thing I haven’t seen regularly, however, is a plain discussion of why a posted build is supposed to be the best. Let’s try to change that, shall we?
First of all, here’s Luxul’s Build. Now, here’s why I spent the points I spent.
[UPDATE: I've respecced, pulling points out of Improved Mangle and King of the Jungle and moving them to Natural Shapeshifter and Master Shapeshifter. I'll let you know how it goes in a later post.]
Greetings, Internet!
I’ve been having a lot of fun playing World of Warcraft again recently, and my guild leader’s decision to start ablog about playing a healadin has inspired me to do something similar. Luxul, my current main, is a druid feral tank, and I’ve been having issues finding good information on playing the class in end-game content. Rather than sit around and complain about it, I’m going to try and marshal the lessons I’ve learned while playing him into blog posts. Maybe someone, somewhere will find the information useful.
I’ll put up the first actual mechanics post later today, but for now, a little background information. Read more »
